I find myself once again seeking employment as certain life situations have put me in this position. I came across a certain RF position that for the most part I feel well qualified, but I came across this one particular requirement that has me very much perplexed.

A thorough understanding and be able to demonstrate proper tuning techniques; including tuning with tabs and lumped elements in high power RF amplifiers.

The part that I am unfamiliar with is underlined above. Tuning with tabs, what the heck is that? I thought I knew all the RF jargon out in the industry but this one is new to me.

Thanks

New one on me, too. Just for fun, I googled "tuning RF amplifier with tabs". Got lots of hits...

I too can use Google yet, I was unable to find anything that really helped me find an answer. Perhaps you were more able and would you care to share your findings?

Search through this patent for occurrences of "tab".

Reading some of the results of the original search made me think to repeat the search like this: "tuning tab" RF amplifier
By putting tuning and tab in quotes, I think the results show what is being asked about in the ad. It seems to be a technique employed in GHz high-power amplifiers.

Thanks Mike
