Turn signals as running lights circuitry

Hi eto,

I would like to use motorcycle turn signals as both turn signals and running lights on my bicycle.

Below is a diagram which meets most of my needs. A relay is added as a switch to make the running lights blink when the turn signal switch is turned on.
The solution shows swapping in LEDs (which is what I will be using) and a relay for the right running lights/turn signals. A second relay would be needed for the left side.
In this circuit the running lights come on when the ignition (keyed switch) is turned on and the turn signals will work off the signal switch.
I want to add a separate switch to turn on the running lights and I want the signals to work if the running lights are on or not on.

Can I modify this circuit to meet these use cases:
Ignition on, running lights off, turn signals will work using turn signal switch
Ignition on, running lights on, turn signals will work using turn signal switch

Other notes:
-the ignition switch is just a keyed switch
-the battery will be charged manually with a charger

I would think the simplest would be to use 3 power diodes ( with Cathode common to LED +) to handle LED current . We call this a Diode OR logic function. with expect voltage drop <1V.

Use ignition voltage from a source that is rated to handle LED power for one diode, others as required. Left, Right (either side blinking) , Manual ON switch from ignition voltage. Anything else?

The LED load may affect the blinker adversely which uses the current response of a tungsten lamp to affect the timer rate. This may be a problem, unless we know more details on timer, rated load and actual desired load.

Hi Tony, I don't understand your proposed solution.
I know diodes allow current to pass in one direction.
What is a power diode?

The flasher I had in the original diagram is an automotive flasher that works with LEDS.
 
signal diodes are rated at low power
power diodes are rated at higher currents.
Look up "DIODE OR"
 
If you connect either the running lights or indicators to ignition + they will be on all the time without affecting each other, you can also open their connection to the indicator circuit to stop them flashing with the indicators.
I was thinking use a coupel of toggle switches to select mode, but thats confusing and you can have all the lights off in certain switch combinations, so I think the best solution would be a 2 pole rotary switch, maybe with 4 positions wired for the functions you need, then you'll allways have some indicators and markers.
 
My understanding is you want to replace the bulbs with LEDs and use them for dual purpose as Running Lights and Turn Signals rather than separate LEDs.
If so, they must be dimmer than the turning signals , about 50% current.

This means the Turn Signals take priority over the Manual Over-ride to flash them off and on, regardless if Running Switch is ON or OFF.

It is possible to do this with added complexity, if you can confirm my assumptions are correct.
The best design spec.would use a Karnaugh Map

I recall as a kid, my Dad's 63 Chevy Station wagon had a design bug.
I used it to turn on the radio without the keys by turning on the 4-way flasher.
Although the power to the radio pulsed on and decayed slowly off at the flash rate.
You don't want the same mistake.
