Hi All,

Is this possible that a TTL logic IC is coupled with a CMOS IC letsay we have a decoder of TTL and counter of CMOS both are in same circuit plz tell

POssible

It's possible to have them connected and work just fine, but not necessarily. You would have to dig into the input/output high/low voltage threshold requirements of both chips to make sure you could connect both directly.

Here is a GENERAL chart. Sometimes the hardest thing is figuring out which family the IC actually falls into (there are a few other families too not on the chart). Google for more charts if you need to. Search for things like "CMOS TTL voltage threshold" or "logic translation levels"

http://www.interfacebus.com/voltage_threshold.html

Devices exist that:
-use CMOS but are designed to work with TTL
-use TTL but are designed to work with CMOS
-CMOS and only designed to work with CMOS
-TTL but only designed to work with TTL

It's all mixed up.

Cmos is better when compared to TTL's Speed and Power Consumption.
But the maximum output Current is Low in CMOS( in mA).
So i have a question, whether they can be used to run a relay.
