triggering a mosfet

Hi,
I want to replace my damaged solid state ignition on my small generator. I want to use the existing small trigger to signal the power mosfet (10 amp, 200V TO 220 package) but the very small voltage going out of the magnetic trigger (30 mv.) cannot drive the said mosfet. Is there any simple design to amplify the signal to be able to drive the mosfet? I will be using 12 v car ignition coil and 12 v baterry as the supply.
