Testing socket for chips from surfacemount to DIP

Hi,

I was looking for a DIP chip but unfortunatly it's very common that what I'm looking for is just produced in "surfce mount".

I've found this chip (**broken link removed**) and it's what I need for my project, unfortunatly it's surface mount, I was looking for a DIP version.

I was wondering if a sort of DIP socket to place surface mount chips exists? If yes where can i finf this kind of addapter?

thanks

What you need is a "SOIC8 to DIP adapter". Google for it.
There are also "SOIC sockets", but those are expensive.
