No way to find a modern ATSC - TV in the market with video output, and it sickens me .
Would like your ideas to implement some signal tapping/conversion, to add an HDMI output port.

Tapping into the digital ATSC tuner output, what circuit would produce a signal that can be later fed to the HDMI input of an external video monitor or another TV ?

The don't add them because of the cost and the few people that would use such an output.

It's not feasible to tap into a TV tuner and add that. Digital is orders of magnitude more complex then the old analog system.

If you really want that feature you can buy an ATSC tuner with HDMI output such as this.

Thanks, crustchow.
Good alternate suggestion, it could drive a HMDI splitter for multiple screens.
Your linked product should be using a standard ATSC tuner, and the circuitry to provide HDMI output among others as featured.

Does anyone know what the circuitry is, chipset used... ?

Would a DVD player with HDMI output have such circuitry stage or would it be different ?

It would have a standard HDMI output but would need to be a DVD recorder for it to have a tuner.
