SPI-IR Interface

Hi,

I need to send data via IR between a handheld PC/ Palm and a SPI device, so the data communicated needs to be converted to SPI. Do you know of any available IR-SPI interface which can be used for this purpose?

I’m looking at MC68HC908LJ12. Is it recommended in this case?
