solar panel..pls comment

i am planing to fix a microcontroller in the soar panel so that rays always fall perpendicular to surface of panel .....hence more power...
please comment and suggest some more modification to improve the standard of project.....
 
Depends on the size and output of your solar panel(s)... You will use a certain amount of power, adjusting the panel position. You will need to decide if you would really benefit from tracking the sun, or if a fixed position would be good enough. Tracking adds cost and complexity, but may not give much of an increase in output. Your gain might be only enough to cover what the tracking hardware uses to move the panel(s). There are plenty of sites discussing this, with math, examples, circuits and hardware. Have only seen a few microcontroller based designs, which were basically toys for demonstration purposes.

This site Red Rock Energy Heliostats is a collection of links related to solar energy. There are hundreds of links, you need to look through the descriptions to see which relate to your interest. Some are commercial sites, but they also give good information you can use on your own (math, installation, hardware assembly). Some of the sites also have other related projects, besides what is listed on RedRok. You could spend days looking and learning new things.
