What software is reccomended for elec. calculations

What would you use for calculations, ohms, farads,ampers,etc.

If you don't know the formulas.

To do electronics you need to know and understand the formulas. Unless you do most of your calculations would be suspect.

There are a few sites on the web that provide the theory, formulas, and calculator. Google
