Sensor wiring help

I have an inductive proximity sensor. It operates on 10-30vDC. I am not the most knowledgeable person when it comes to wiring. It says Ia max=250mA. Am I able to safely connect this sensor to a 12vDC circuit? Will it only draw the current that it needs, or will it get overloaded?

The sensor can be directly connected to 12V where it will draw up to 15mA of power. The load should be no greater than 250mA ( no smaller than 48Ω) to ground. Look at the wiring diagrams in https://www.electro-tech-online.com/custompdfs/2009/11/AIS_8-12.pdf.

Ok thanks, my load is a relay Relays - Solid State - SSRDC100V40A

The input load for the relay is 28mA @ 32 volt. So I don't really know if it's safe for 12 volt. Any help?

If you look at the relay spec for INPUT (control values), the input control voltage range is 3-4V to 32VDC so 12V will be fine.
