Regulated Dual power supply +/- 15 V DESIGN (single IC)

I am planning to design a circuit to get a regulated +/- 15 V, +/- 100 mA using a "single

IC".

Which is the preferable IC, 723,78XX,79XX, or 317 ?

Can anyone provide the circuit configuration ?

The easiest way would be to use a 7815 for the +15V and a 7915 for the -15V. However if your transformer has two seperate isolated secondary' it is possible to use two of the same IC to get the + and - supplies.

You need two ICs, one for the positive and the other for the negative.

You don't even need a transformer with a centre tap or a twin secondary, you could use a transformer with a single primary and a biphase rectifier to get a bipolar supply.

If you can find the LM325, this was a dual +/- 15 volt regulator in a single IC.
It is obsolete now, but there may be some in the surplus market.
