Ok I was wondering what are good values for the resister and capacitor for a external rc oscillator for a pic 16F84A. Could someone explain how the pic uses the rc network to create an oscillator pulse. In the datasheet for the 16F84A it says to use a resistor with a value between 5k ohms and 100k ohms, and a cap with a capacity >20pf. How do the values of the resistor and cap effect the oscillator pulse? Is there a formula for this. Thanks for all your help. :lol:
