PWM Controllers & BJTs

Hi all, I have 2 questions. I have a Switching Power Supply, using 2x BTJ Transistors "E13009".

Q1.) Can anyone tell me how to Disable the "Short Circuit Protection" on a "DBL494" PWM Controller? Can't I just connect Pin 4 (DTC - Dead Time Control) to the ground?

Q2.) Can BJTs be used in parallel? Like connecting the Bases, Collectors & Emitters together?
