I need to know the operation of the ultrasonic sensor side which is shown in the image. . .

GL40 2T - ULTRASONIC SENSOR

LM324 - AMPLIFIERS

LM393 - COMPARATOR

MC14049 - HEX BUFFER

HCF4093BE - SCHMITT TRIGGER

HCF4060BE - OSCILLATOR

Read the datasheets for the ICs you've listed. That will give you some idea of the function of each. A schematic of your circuit would help us to help you regarding the overall function of the circuit.

The lousy old LM324 quad opamp has a poor slew rate that limits its full output to about 2kHz which is not ultrasonic. Most other ordinary or audio opamps work well to 100kHz.
