Nigel! He shouldn't need to.. the pickit2 has a auto generator that works on the internal pic18f2550 it puts in the best value for the chip being programmed, I've used it before, it's quite good

Somebody was having a problem using the PK2 to regenerate the value. An error like "failed to connect to the calibration executive"

That's interesting to know, I've not used a 12F675 since I got my PICKit's.

You can simply bypass this requirement and get on with burning the chip.
