I have to provide predictions for each than complete it, anybody got any ideas?

You have to change the intensity of light on the LDR which will cause the resistance to vary and hence the voltage across it. How can one help its all practical since you will be the one exposing it to light. May be this will help you understand wat you are supposed to do.It does the same thing.

Some LDR's gain resistance with light, others lose it. You are currently measuring as a voltage divider. The voltage will either increase or decrease do the math if you want .

Can anyone provide me with the resistance of a typical Infared Diode if it was placed "in the shade"?
