Possible Resistor identification

Hi,
My son's RC car suddenly stopped working and opening it up revealed a broken wire on what I'm guessing is a 16k resistor. I'm attaching pictures and am hoping the community can help me identify this part so I can replace it. 16 000 is imprinted on the side, it is about 1/4 inch long, and it had 2 wires coming out the bottom. Don't think it is necessary relevant but Y1 is imprinted on the circuit board. TIA

It appears to be a 16MHz quartz crystal, for frequency control?
