That seems like a really random grouping of standards. Especially considering DMX is actually a protocol sub category of the RS485 standard so there is no difference between implementing RS485 and DMX from a hardware standpoint, there no logical reason not to do both and add a jumper for the two modes or what not. MIDI is of most use to musicians, of which there are so few here to comment that I'd be surprised if it wasn't the last runner up on the pole. CAN is a good second for versatility. I'm not even sure why RS422 is on the list, you'd be better off implementing an Ethernet standard and using passive or active hubs for the multidrop ability, Rs422 hasn't been using in comercial devices since the Mac before 1998 =\
