:) You are required to design an audio amplifier; the amplifier input comes from a high quality dynamic microphone. The amplifier should deliver up to 120 watts of RMS power to the speaker/speakers (this will be a multistage amplifier). You are required to do the following.

1-Choose the microphone and speaker/speakers types.(use radioshack.com)

2-Suggest the amplifier design (use transistors, resistors, and capacitors. No ICs are allowed)

3-Analyze the design to achieve the input resistance, voltage gain, output resistance and power gain.

4-Find the overall amplifier efficiency.

5-You have to illustrate the function of each circuit component, and why you used it.

6-You have to specify ALL the used components numbers, including power
sources, (For example 100 KΩ %5 tolerance resistor, 2N3055 npn transistor,….)

7-Specify the circuit cost (sum of the prices of all the components).

8-Verify you results using any simulation program. Attach a CD for your circuit simulation.

9-Attach the datasheet of the used components to your solution.

10-Make your assumptions very clear.

11-You have to specify your sources of information (website, datasheets,
textbooks,…etc.).

12-The circuit cost, and the design quality are major factors in deciding the
grade.

13-Credits will be given to circuits with short circuit protection, and high tolerance to components values change.

14-Credits will be given to calculating the harmonics distortion introduced by the amplifier

Well you certainly have been given a challenging assignment. A lot of research will be required to do justice to all the assignment points. For audio circuits and theory I would suggenst the following site. Read the articals and project sections and I think you can make rapid progress on your assignment.

Good luck

WOW !!! You better get to work !!!
