Play voice with PIC

Is there a way to play voice/music using PIC controller ?
Is there any sujjestions for SW encoder on PC and the download the output file to the PIC flash and play the voice/music using the PIC.

I've seen a circuit for use with a 16F84 intefacing with an SPO256 speech synth chip.......a search on the net will locate it ( I cant remember where I saw it :cry: ) if this is suitable.......or perhaps give an idea

as i just wrote in another post...

but i've done some experimenting with an ISD4002 2 minute audio recorder chip.
worked quite well in conjunction with a microcontroller.
some of the ISD range go up to 16 minutes...
