hello
I have found this simple programmer

and in the text it says "The chips that I will be using will be 16C84, 16F83 and 16F84"

but on the schematic it shows only the 16C84

so does this mean the other chips listed above can be used with the exact same circuit?

I just have another question

do these very simple programmers (like the one i listed above) actually work? and if they do why do people go to the bother of making the extremely complicated ones?

the 'extremely complicated' onces support more chips

no parts programmers normally support only a few chips.
Also, i have found no parts programmers to be not so stable as the others.
