is there any guide anywhere for connecting a AS608 finger print scanner to a pic18f series mcu in pic basic? it has a UART interface. All i could find online is arduino examples.

Just convert the Arduino examples to PIC BASIC, it should be simple enough - even if you could fine PIC examples, they would most likely be written in C anyway.

There have been various versions of BASIC running on PIC's, both compilers and interpreters. Oshonsoft BASIC is probably the most common?.

Pick Basic (from this company) is a compiler not an interpreter. I find it runs very fast.
