Hey guys,
Im a complete newbie to chip programming, and need some advice. I want to be able to program a chip to do very basic functions. I have some knowlege of Qbasic. The format I've been looking at is PIC because you can build a programmer cheap, there is alot of free software out there that can program the chip with a .HEX file, and the chips are cheap. The thing I am wondering is where to get cheap/free software to write code in basic and compile it to a .HEX file. Any info would be GREATLY appreceated.
