I was wondering is there a circuit or a gadget that can tell u if a call is coming through if your on the internet or on at any other time.

If you have a modem that supports Caller ID, you can simply plug in your phone line and use a simple software that will pop a window to show the Caller ID information.

Most software have some sort of history or logging functionality, and several are available for free. Search on Google for "caller id software", you will easily find a lot of them. Most will also include simple instructions on how to figure out if your modem supports caller ID or not.
