Phone chargers and other additions

I have a video camera that can be plugged into my phone at the USB input which means I can't use it and charge the phone at the same time. If I make an adapter to charge the phone and supply power to the camera, will it be too much for the camera? Ebay lists them as endoscopes and the other day I needed to use it but the phone battery was down, so I had to charge the phone before I could use it.

unknown actually, not given ion the specs, My concern is that the charging voltage is higher than the battery voltage and battery voltage is what the camera was designed around, so would the excess voltage be to much for the camera, I'm not so sure this was one of my better ideas.

Well texas instruments sheet tells voltage to be 3.3V of their camera. So you need a regulator if supply is 5V. Better way is to use a voltmeter and measure voltage accross the camera. You can get usb extension wire, peel it, and place it between camera and phone measure voltage instead of cutting camera wire. It is "endoscope camera".It might not be simply running on battery. Because battery gives 3.7 to 4.2V. and phone might be regulating otherwise you could have purchased a big tab battery for it
