Over Voltage rating on transistors, is this called biasing?

Most engineers cringe when told to do something inexplicably dishonest as this. Most would never resort to this kind of hocus pocus to generate extra income. Most of my clients come from word of mouth by other clients, so the reputation of my company means more than a few extra bucks. Our products are warranted for 1 year and we hope to NEVER see them back again. Bad design practice, bad business practice... BAD BUSINESS MODEL all around. Shame on them....
