I am trying to switch a triac, with a small load on it, 200 volts 1 amp, i have been told the moc 3010 is a sutible triac driver, would the moc3022 do the same thing safely
thanks

A very quick perusal of the data sheet https://www.fairchildsemi.com/ds/MO/MOC3011-M.pdfsays the only difference is that the 3022 part takes less current to turn on, than the 3010, and I can see no other difference, so it should work for you, but you should have a look yourself.

They both take about the same current (10mA) to turn ON, if I read the datasheet correctly.

However, if you are using either of them to turn on a 200V triac, then you should(must) use MOC3022 instead as it is rated for 400V.

The MOC3011, on the other hand is only rated to 250V and suitable for use on 120V AC circuit.
