Hi

Can anyone clear my doubt of excatly what is the significance of operating point and how do we calculate operating point.

A single transistor circuit is designed so that its DC collector voltage (its operating point) is halfway on its minimum and maximum swing. Then its output level is the maximum possible.

The circuit is designed so that a weak but passing transistor works almost as well as a very good and sensitive transistor since transistors are not all the same. The design also allows the transistor to work well in a variety of temperatures.
