Hi, i ordered 2 pcbs from an electronic magazine, to make one of the projects in the magazine.

Does it matter which side i solder the components onto the boards?

i've attached a pic, one board is face up, the other down.

picture is not clear

can't tell much. If in doubt look at the directions or call the manufacture.
it looks like a 2x board but not sure if it has plated through holes etc.
If it was me I would solder both sides. can't hurt

WHAT! no silkscreen for part placement?

looks like only one side is plated so only one side needs to be soldered the shinny tin plated side.
what is this and why with a simple layout didn't you make your own board??

That's an odd looking PCB what is it made out of?
MrDEB not is capable or willing to make their own PCB's

It matters a lot if you place the components on the solder side, being mirrored that way. (Electrolytic caps and all other polarized elements will be supplied wrongly.)

Since it is a single sided board place all components on top to solder at the bottom.

Boncuk

Thanks for responding guys.

The small pcb is the reciever of an infrared tv audio transmitter
The schematic is in the magazine.
I have never made my own board before, and this is the first project i've built on a board. I would like to try making my own board next time.

Just wanted to check before i started soldering i was using the right side

seems so obvious looking at it now

You have to place the components as per the placement instructions on EPE may09 magazine
