Need Help With Sound Acivated LED Project

We assume this symbol is power ground;

And that they are all tied together with the negative of the supply.
We do not connect all of them to keep schematics uncluttered.

Thanks, kv

I understand that but I'm doing it so that I could understand the schematic better. I'm new to this stuff just trying to tackle this project.

Your doing great what ever helps you I guess; but this might help you more in the future.

Thanks for the help but I have a couple more questions.
-What wire do I use as a grounding wire?
-What wire do I use for connection wire?
-What will happen if I choose to still use the LEDs I ordered? (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007RO9X82/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
-I'm a little confused about the music source input. The line parallel of the ground line for it that is connected to the 100k resistor. How does that hook up to my computer?

You can use just about any wire for the power and signal lines, like network cable or something.

I think? he means clarify what points he needs to connect too! he doesn't get where each of them go. He doesn't read schematic.

Same as your 1st circuit.
The bare wires from the jack that plugs into the headphone jack on your speaker goes to ground.
One or the other of the two insulated wires goes to the top of the "100k resistor" which is a potentiometer, otherwise known as a volume control.

Fixed to indicate the audio source should be connected across the 100K potentiometer and the wiper goes to the LM386.

Oh okay good. Do you think you could help find the right stuff on amazon? This is some of the stuff I found but I'm not 100% sure if it's the right stuff.

I need 9V battery (https://www.amazon.com/Energizer-Al...TF8&qid=1401319844&sr=8-4&keywords=9v+battery)
100uF Capacitors (https://www.amazon.com/Quality-CAPA...id=1401319922&sr=8-4&keywords=100uf+capacitor)
47nF Capacitors (https://www.amazon.com/10pcs-0-047u...=1401319990&sr=8-6&keywords=0.047uf+capacitor)
100k Resistor (https://www.amazon.com/E-Projects-1...&qid=1401320364&sr=1-1&keywords=100k+resistor)
New LED Lights (https://www.amazon.com/microtivity-...01320482&sr=8-1&keywords=blue+led+light+diode)
LM386 (https://www.amazon.com/Through-Audi...?ie=UTF8&qid=1401320550&sr=8-1&keywords=lm386)

100k Resistor (https://www.amazon.com/E-Projects-100k-Resistors-Watt-Pieces/dp/B00B5RWC4Y/ref=sr_1_1?s=industrial&ie=UTF8&qid=1401320364&sr=1-1&keywords=100k resistor)

More like this it has 3 terminals. https://www.amazon.com/Potentiomete..._indust_3?ie=UTF8&refRID=01JYQMBNBB95W3V5731E

Edit: Notice it has 3 terminals one is going to the audio source which is normally your Left or Right audio. That means that one side of the 3 terminals and doesn't matter which is connected to the pot; the middle terminal is going to go to terminal 3 of the Op-Amp and the 3rd will go to ground.
