I'm trying to find a way to have computer monitor turn on when I turn
on power strip. If power is left on monitor is made with a normaly open
push button which is used to turn monitor on and off. One side of switch
is ground the other side is approx. 3.5v. I can't just jumper switch because
if switch is closed when power is applied to monitor it will not turn on until
I open then close switch again.{the switch is momentery contact}.
Thanks for any advice.

Why?
The monitor is designed to switch on like does now. If you change that you may damage it or you may not activate the degaussing coil. Monitors (and TV's) should never be switched by just turning the power strip on or off.

Klaus, I have a very good reason for what I'm trying to do. It would be
too much to explain.
Yours is not to reason why..............
