Mobile phone module

I have an application which requires reading the phone book and a stored message from a sim card, but I seem to be unable to find them. I have been able to make the phone modules do the other functions I need, like send an SMS, but of the info I need there is no trace. There will be an instruction that no-one told me about, I'm sure. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I have a Motorola G24L and a siemens TC35I, if this helps.

AT+CMGL=4 (in pdu mode)
AT+CMGL=ALL (in text mode)

That will read in all the text messages.

AT&N will display all the stored phone numbers.

I am fairly sure that the AT commands are not manufacturer specific.
