I could of got it free for life 12 years ago

You work with Proteus. Then you can use the debug file to single step through the code...

I don't have full access of Proteus. I am using free version. I can debug file to single step but I can't see the code

The debug window autonomic stops when I debug the program. So that I can not debug the program

Whenever I try to debug code, simulator automatically closed after sometime. I am not able to debug code on proteus. I don't have license key. I am using free version

Oh!! That's a bit of tough luck....

You may well have to use a lesser simulator.... MCU8051IDE... It works with asm and SDCC... But it isn't real time..

That's a connection error... Show me you circuit in proteus.... I needed 4 pullups on key port as the port needs to see 5v on each row and 0v if a key is pressed..

Please look at circuit

Proteus Is not much good if your using the free copy you be way ahead to buy a handful of parts and use the real thing plus learn how to use your IDE it have a sim built into it.
