I want to make an “amp” for the mic of a cell phone head set.
I am using one of the cheap ear bud type for the mic. (Small electret)

I built an FM converter to hear the cell phone… but the mic from the head set is not sensitive enough.
I would like to make the mic more sensitive so I don’t have to shout

I was thinking of using a simple NPN transistor pre amp circuit.
But I would like to clean up the input a little.

Try buying a better quaility mic.

Google "Pre Amp Circuit" here one I found from there at the top of the page

You could just buy another headset with a mic that is physically closer to your mouth:) since acoustic loss has a 1/r relationship.
