looking for character lcd

Does anyone know where I can get a character LCD module with 1 line x 8 character or 1 line x 16 characters. It should have red characters on a black background

these are readily available from the 'bay

only cost about £3 or £4 tops

They had white on black, white on blue, red on black, green on black, orange on black last time i ordered and used the HD4470??? or whatever that standard chipset is

Since you haven't filled in your location we don't know what will work for you. Here are some results for the US (looks like they only have white characters on red):

I have seen those on ebay but they are 2 line character lcd modules. I'm looking for 1 line character lcd modules
