Is there any device which can use to lock or unlock a certain thing using DC power supply? Lets say i want to lock the door by using DC voltage instead of using hand to lock the door. Sorry if my english not understandable.

One method is a solenoid lock - you can buy such devices for doors on blocks of flats etc. The solenoid UNLOCKS the door, it locks automatically when closed.

hi Nigel,
You can get the bolt type in two versions, 'fail unbolt' or 'fail bolt', [power source failure], AC and DC versions, which activate the door bolt.

Also you can buy 'fail safe','fail unsafe' locks, these types allow the lock to be opened or not with the usual key. [but the lock is still closed]

Prices UK, range from £15 thru £65, did a little survey on these locks/bolts sometime ago, for home security.
