Hi everyone, just wondering if you could help.

Im trying to build a battery reader using a LM3914 driver and a 10 segment LED bar, its to read a 7.2 volt battery.

Does anyone have a circuit diagram or advice on how to build it as its my first time doing anything like this.

Thanks

Paul.

If the LM3914 and its LEDs are powered by the battery being tested then the current is up to about 160mA if all LEDs are on for a fully charged battery.
You could connect the LM3914 in the "dot" mode so that the current is only about 20mA.

Do you want a range of measurement from 6.0V for a discharged battery to 8.4V for a battery directly from the charger?
Or do you want 6.0V to 8.0V with 0.2V between LEDs?
