I have been researching about inverters and came across the term linear inverter. I have been told this are the old systems and they are no longer manufactured in the west. Are they referring to the old motor generator sets?
Don't they operate a lot like an audio amp, using the transistors in the linear range? Would produce a great sine wave, but also dissipate a LOT of heat.
