Lightning turning off my laptop?!?!

We just had a rather large lightning storm here last night. I was sitting down playing GTA, with my laptop unplugged from the mains to be safe. Next thing, lightning strikes really close, and my laptop just instantly turned off?!!?

I did have my wireless card plugged in and running, but I dont think that would cause my laptop to shut down. Could it have possibly been the EMP from the strike itself?

It can happen.

More important, does it still boot up and work OK.?

I'm posting from it right now, so its fine. I'm just confused as to how it could have turned off. Must have been one huge EMP !
