Cannot find a push-off / key-on switch...

It looks like the image :

Slides in by pushing it in by thumb to open a circuit turning something off. To restore continuity on, only a key pops it out again.

Any clues where to find such animal ?
 
How about a DIY type? One of the cabinent locks and a micro switch . With the lock out, the NC contacts are used and broken when the lock is pushed in and it hits the micro switch.

I believe you must have been looking at an obscure version of a machine Emergency Stop type switch?

Those have safety-of-life type ratings and certifications compliant with UK/US/EU laws, they are not just electrical switches like the Aliexpress versions.

The commoner versions of ES switches are more like £30 - £50, depending on details.
