LCD Sample Needed Urgently

Hi all, i am new here. Currently i am doing a project and met some problems with it. I am using MPLAB, ICD2 compiler, PIC18f2520 and LASCAR SP5-GFX1.

All along i have been using parallel port for the LCD, till few days ago i realized that the LCD uses serial port which i never tried before. i have googled for quite some time and found lots of irrelevant things.

Can any kind souls share links or post some samples for me to reference.
