Hi i am trying to supply a ac power supply to my laser and eliminate the use of batteries for my project. I have a power supply circuit but it doesnt seem to work. I have used the 7805 Ic for voltage regulation but somehow it doesnt give me the desired output. i have attatched the file as a png. i want a supply from mains 220v/ 1a to 8v acheived by transformer. then used a rectifier ckt for ac to dc. the laser is still now glowing at the end point. laser needs 3v and 40mA. it is a class 2 laser.
