Hi,
I'm using the L298 H bridge chip to do simple dc motor control and want to include a current monitor using the current sense resistors.
These are typically 0.22 ohms 5watt, but the datasheets clearly state, without reason, that wirewound resistors should not be used ?
Can anyone say why this is so, and if a wirewound resistor was used what effect it would have ?
Here in the UK is virtually impossible to buy such a non wirewound resistor, the only alternative is to parallel a load of smaller carbon rersistors to make up the value / wattage.
thanks
