I guess you haven't heard of **broken link removed**.

**broken link removed**

Mike.

Hi Pommie,

Thanks for posting...i was thinking of writing a program like this but never got
around to it. I'll try this version.

Would like to see your version too Junaid if you feel like posting a link.

That is interesting too.
Here's an example of Andy's...

Code:
                 R1
                 ___
       .--------|___|------.
       | |
       | V D1
      --- -
       - 5v |
       | |
       | .-.
       | | |
       | | | R2
       | '-'
       | |
       | |
       | |
       '----------+--------'
                  |
                 GND

Those ASCII schematics are horrible.
I use Microsoft Paint program to copy and paste pieces of datasheets or other shematics.

Here is a example of my schematics made with Microsoft Paint program:

great idea but!

in order to design a pcboard you need to enter the schematic into a pcboard design program.
I will have to try the cut n paste as it would save alot of editing schematics.

Has anyone tried one of those USB "smart pens" where you just draw on paper and it goes straight into your PC as an image?

I sometimes draw on paper and scan stuff but that's still a bit slow. I'm curious if anyone's tried one of those pens and if they are worth buying, i think they are about $50 or so, last time I saw one in the junkmail.

We used the Wacom tablets with a pen and they were superb. You could sign your name and it came out perfect, try doing that with a mouse. These newer one seem to use a coded pad so the pen knows where it is and so I assume they would work as well as the Wacom tablets.

Are you sure you are getting the real thing for $50? The adds I've seen are more like $250.

Mike.

I wasn't really paying that much attention to the price Pommie, I think they had a storage one with IR comms + IR USB dongle for about $100 and a cheap one with a wire that plugs direct in the USB I remember being about $50.

I didn't want to lose the desk space required for a tablet as just a pen takes up a LOT less space on my already cluttered PC desk. ;)
