I have Infocus lp500 projector that is placed in a gypsum board in the ceiling. To switch it on I have to use the remote. Since my control unit is set to the back I can’t switch on from the back I have to go in front and switch it on from there. Can some help me in a sort of repeater or extender that I could use to control the projector from behind? Don't hasitate to contact to me to explain better or even offer you some photos.

how about a simple mirror?, you can bounce the IR off of it!.

how to do this

I need it to be as hidden as possible. I need to make a repeater or extender that has the input just seen and have the transmitter inside the box so it could reach the receiver of the projector.

you can get IR repeaters from a number of sources. My home theater equipment is mostly in a closet and the PJ is on the ceiling like yours.

I have an IR connecting block similar to this: https://www.smarthome.com/8191.html

and an IR sensor like this: https://www.smarthome.com/8130W.html

I snaked one of the emitter's wires up through the ceiling and down next to the PJ. the sensom is in a little box attached to my front speaker stand.

the sensor has a nice feature that it has visible LED confirmation of the IR signal. you can get them without the led.

You can get much better prices than at smarthome.

Oh, and, yes, you could build one for a lot less but this thing wasn't that expensive and I wanted bullet-proof.

Links to check please and if they could be modyfied

Do you know a good schematic that I could use to have a receiver near me and pass the transmitter with a wire to the box where the projector is located? Is this good https://www.electronics-lab.com/projects/sensors/003/index.html or this is best https://www.electronics-lab.com/projects/sensors/008/index.html if you have something better can you inform me and tell me if the transmitter could be connected using a long wire of about 20m or so. Thanks very much
