Integrated circuits connectivity in Printed circuit board.

Can a integrated circuit pins output be connected to one and more integrated circuits input pins in printed circuit board?

There are two scenarios.

There are three Integrated circuits IC1, IC2 & IC3. The one attached in the diagram is IC1. Similarly there are IC2 & IC3 integrated circuits on the PCB.


Scenario 1 :

Pin6 of IC1 is connected to IC2 - Pin8 through conducting copper wire.Pin7 of IC1 is connected to IC3 - Pin 17 through conducting copper wire.
Here two different Pins of IC1 is connected to two different Pins of IC2 & IC3.

Scenario 2 :

Pin6 of IC1 is connected to Pin9 of IC2 through conducting copper wire.Pin6 of IC1 is connected to Pin 14 of IC3 through conducting copper wire.
In this scenario, the same Pin6 of IC1 is connected to two different Integrated circuits Pins IC2 & IC3.

Are both above scenarios practically workable?

If both or any of the above two scenarios are not workable, please assist in stating the reasons.

The quick answer is - yes.
This assumes that the pins which are connected together are electrically compatible.

In Scenario 2, one can connect from IC1 Pin6 to n number of connections to different IC pins as you mentioned.

This can have advantages but could well be termed as complicated connections?

Is Scenario 2, in general, one should avoid or recommended?
