Hello. I like to toy with ideas concerning android robotics, even though I probably will never have the perseverance or skills to make one. Anyway, here's an idea I had about constructing a tactile sensor.

I was thinking about a kind of urethane glove that could be made by dipping a mold into urethane rubber resin, or cast into two part mold. The outer surface would be coated with conductive paint, and in the inside would be pads (or wire ends) where you want the sensing spots. Pressure on the skin could then be determined by change of capacitance.

Good idea or bad?
