ice cream maker in freezer

Hi
I want to build an ice cream maker with a dc motor..i want to put it into freezer so the Q is
what kind of motor and battery should i use? freezer is cold and i'm afraid those cheap motors and li-ion battery doesn't work.

Welcome to eto.
The motor would make its own heat to an extent, though the bearings might wear quicker as the lube would less effective at that temp.
Why not run a couple of wires out of the freezer chamber to a battery on the outside.

Your best bet would likely be to use a standard AC motor and use a flat ribbon cable to run the power by the freezer door gasket.
You may have to lube the motor and gears with a low-temperature silicone or synthetic grease.

If using AC, another source is the interior light, depending on how powerful your motor is. It is probably a simple job to remove one wire from the door switch so it is continuously on.

However, I agree with crutschow that a flat or even round extension cord under the door gasket shouldn't make much difference and is far easier to do.
