A google search immediately found a few projects: https://electronics-diy.com/ICL7107_digital_ammeter.php https://www.electronics-lab.com/projects/test/014/ However, the cost of making it may be higher than buying a complete ready made panel meter, there are now many being sold cheaply on ebay by Chinese or Irish sellers in various colour LEDs or LCDs.
