hello,
i hope some one can help me.
at the moment on my motorbike i have a variable voltage output of between 9 volts and 22 volts i need this voltage to be limited to a steady 8-12 volts HOW can i do this. i would rather ues some thing that is INLINE. can some one please help me.

Use a voltage regulator. LM338 provides higher current with adjustable output.

I assume this is a smaller motorbike with no battery. ie: you have to kick start it?
How much current do you need and do you need a steady 8V OR 12V? Both 12V and 8V are hardly steady now are they?
